History

Incorporated in 1963, Granby Ambulance Association (GAA) relies primarily on donations and insurance payments to offer comprehensive services to the towns of East Granby, East Hartland and Granby.

1963

Granby Ambulance Association opens its doors as an emergency medical services provider.

1975

GAA responds to 286 calls a year across East Granby, East Hartland and Granby

1981

The new facility on Pegville Road in Granby opens its doors.

2003

GAA becomes a paramedic ALS service provider.

2004

GAA renovates the service barn on Pegville Road into a full-service facility.

2013

East Granby Ambulance Association merges with GAA.

2013

Thanks to GAA’s ALS and CPR training, the town of Granby receives designation as a heart-safe community.

2018

GAA celebrates 55 years of service.

2018

GAA receives recognition from the American Heart Association for meeting the latest research-based standards for resuscitation care with a Mission Lifeline Award.

2018

GAA begins a grass roots movement to offer Stop the Bleed® training to residents and businesses.

2019

With assistance from the Lions Club in Simsbury, GAA trains nearly 100 people in life-saving CPR.

2019

GAA receives recognition from the American Heart Association for meeting the latest research-based standards for resuscitation care with a Mission Lifeline Award, for the second year in a row.
